Revision

To ensure the words stick in your memory, test yourself on them at regular intervals. If you learn some new words in the morning for example, check that you can still remember them later that day, the next day, a week later and a month later. If you find some words hard to recall, try thinking up different associations for them. You may need to try several different associations before you find one that works.

Dissect new words

Colegio (101)Colegio (101)When encountering a new word, take a look at its structure. Many words consist of prefixes and suffixes, and an understanding of these parts of speech is advantageous. For example woodboring, wood-boring there are two word that mixed makes one. Studying these affixes can help you to understand conjugation and structure, and make educated guesses when encountering new vocabulary.

Review often

In a vocabulary class, yesterday’s vocabulary is more important than today’s. The goal is to transfer the short-term knowledge of new vocabulary into your long-term memory. Review is essential – in the first few days or weeks after learning new vocabulary, recycle those words and you'll entrench them in your memory. A good language textbook or online program will be organised in a way that reviews and applies learned vocabulary in later lessons.

Watch Films!

Watch movies and Tv in original version! So you could hear the original voices and improve your eglish but don't use spanish's subtitles, or this technique won't be usefull. You must put english's subtitles and if you don't undersrand something about what you're hearing you read the subtitles, so ou also learn how some words are written :)

Read, read and read

The more you read (especially novels and literary works, but also magazines and newspapers) the more words you'll be exposed to. As you read and uncover new words, use a combination of attempting to derive meaning from the context of the sentence as well as from looking up thedefinition in a dictionary.

This technique has been very useful for me, i'm use to read some magazines and news on internet and most of times are in english, and this has motivated me to improve my english because i want to understand what I'm reading.  Moreover, I have some videos on YouTube and most of the comments are in english. If i want people to understand me and follow my account I must answer in english as well is easier for them to understand it.

TRAVEL!

One of my favourites ones. Save some money and go away to any place, not have to be exactly a place where English is spoken, any place where you can talk with people in english because they don't know spanish. Try to go alone, so you will have no choice any you will have to speak english with everybody. The longer you stay the most you will learn.

Learn a word a day

Using a word-a-day calendar or Website  (developing your own list of words to learn) is a great technique many people use to learn new words. This approach may be too rigid for some, so even if you do use this method, don't feel you must learn a new word every day.

Find some word-a-day Websites at this page Wordoftheday

Use a journal!

It's a good idea to keep a running list of the new words you discover so that you can refer back to the list and slowly build them into your everyday vocabulary. Plus, keeping a journal of all your new words can provide positive reinforcement for learning even more words, especially when you can see how many new words you've already learned

Engage in conversation

Simply talking with other people can help you learn discover new words. As with reading, once you hear a new word, remember to jot it down so that you can study it later  and then slowly add the new word to your vocabulary.

Keep a dictionary

Use whatever versions you prefer, in print, software, or online. When you uncover a new word, look it up in the dictionary to get both its pronunciation and its meaning. Thereby instantly memorize on your mind. If you do this with every word you don´t know you start to memorize unconsciously.
